Questions from a New Blogger

So here I am… sitting in my fiancé’s office. Yes—his office. Don’t ask me how the writer in this relationship didn’t secure that victory. 😖 (Just kidding… he does need his space… but that doesn’t mean I won’t borrow it when I feel like it.)😜 Anyway—I felt like I needed to pop in and write something because I’ve been busy lately, and I refuse to neglect my little corner of the internet. I genuinely love writing—sharing thoughts, rants, chaos… even if no one’s reading. I mean, in my head? I have an audience. In reality? I probably have… what… five loyal readers and my fiancé? 😎  And honestly—I’m okay with that… mostly.

But I won’t lie—sometimes I wish there was a bit more interaction. A comment here, a reaction there… just a tiny sign that something I said made someone laugh, think, or even roll their eyes dramatically. I’m not picky.

Which got me thinking…
(cue dramatic music)🎶
What are people actually reading these days?

Blogs are apparently “a dime a dozen” (so I’m told), which makes me wonder—why did I even start one?

I mean, everything’s already been done:
✔️Fashion
✔️Decor
✔️News
✔️Underwater Llama Fashion (at this point? probably)🙈🙉🙊

So is there even room for more?

Truthfully—I started this for me.
And while I’m not going to spiral if I don’t become some big-name SL blogger… it would be nice to know people are enjoying what I’m putting out here.

What I don’t want?
A bunch of “follow for follow” situations.

I will never understand that.

Like… thank you, that’s sweet… but if you’re just collecting follows like Pokémon cards, are you actually reading anything? Or just boosting numbers for the aesthetic? 🤔

Because let’s be real—people don’t comment anymore.  Not on blogs.  Barely on Facebook.  Primfeed? A ghost town with a plethora of hearts💕<---(if you are lucky.) And yes, I’ll call myself out too—I’m guilty of scrolling. But if something genuinely makes me laugh or catches my attention, I try to say something… because I know how nice it feels when someone takes that extra second. Those little “warm fuzzies” are real, okay?🤗

And that brings up another question…
Is that what matters most? Big follower counts… even if no one’s actually paying attention?

Because I see a TON of fashion blogs that are literally just: 📸 Outfit pic 📝 Credits …and that’s it. No personality. No story. No “why.” Just vibes and vendor links. And hey—if that’s your thing, do you. No shade. But I genuinely don’t get the appeal of following something with little to no content beyond a picture. Are the photos meant to inspire? If so… why not say something about them? Or is writing just… too much these days? Do people even want to read anymore? Or are we all just here for pretty pixels and shopping lists?

And don’t even get me started on blogging applications… 

I’ve been applying to blog for creators lately, and soooo many require huge followings.

Which—okay, I get it.
If you’re a creator, you want exposure.

But also… how does anyone new grow if no one gives them a shot?

It’s a vicious cycle.

And I’m not even talking about the big names—some smaller creators are out here asking for like 15k followers and I’m just sitting here like…
“…ma’am, I barely have 15 people who remember my blog exists.” 😵🤣

So yeah… maybe I’m a little bitter. Just a smidge.

But at the end of the day, I know what I like.

I like reading.
I like personality.
I like humor, wit, a little chaos.
I like learning about people—what makes them tick.

(Yes, I am 100% a profile perv. No shame.)

So that’s what I want this space to be—
A little peek inside my brain.
