Okay… maybe I just don’t understand this trend ( or maybe my age is starting to show a little)  but WTF is this even about?

Everyone’s making these reels where they just stare into the camera, glance side to side, blink twice, maybe deliver a microscopic smirk… and then slap some random, meaningless words across the screen that have absolutely nothing to do with what we’re watching. I guess it’s supposed to be a “reaction,” but most of the time the reaction is giving… absolutely nothing. No joy, no sadness, just a blank stare like the human equivalent of elevator music.

Is this what they mean when they say Gen Z just stares at you? Is it narcissism?
“Look at me. Look how cute I am even when I get bad news.”

Or maybe it’s the non-reaction flex:
“Look at me. I’m too cool to have emotions.”

Either way, it comes across a little self-absorbed.

And furthermore… do people genuinely think the world is sitting on the edge of its seat waiting to see their face react to everything?  Like humanity is collectively holding its breath for their eyebrow movement?

How self-focused have we become? The level of “the world revolves around me” is truly Olympic.

But I digress. Here I am, writing a whole rant as if the world cares about my thoughts and opinions. Damn… am I a hypocrite? (Ha!)  Whatever.... at least I’m actually saying something instead of just silently forcing you to stare at my face for 12 seconds.

Anyway, this rant is dumb — but it’s something that makes me cringe nonetheless.
Your turn: what’s something online that makes you cringe? Tell me in the comments. 😂😂
